Given the likelihood of the approaching winter storm, HPISD is expecting to announce its plans later today regarding school for the rest of the week. District staff will evaluate updated information from the National Weather Service before reaching a final decision.
For now, staff and students are encouraged to make plans as if classes will not be held Thursday and Friday. Driving conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly overnight, making travel conditions hazardous.

The decision on whether schools will be closed will be announced through the following outlets:

- Announcement on hpisd.org
- Posts on the district’s Facebook page and Twitter feed
- A recorded message on the HPISD main switchboard (214-780-3000). Please remember to call this main number, not the campuses.
- The district will also inform television and radio stations. They share such information at their discretion. For the most accurate information, we suggest parents and staff check hpisd.org.
Any changes and/or cancellations to after-school events and/or activities including programs offered through Academy for Lifelong Learning will be posted on the HPISD Event Cancellation webpage as they are received.
